!! MANSFIELD GETS AN AVIONICS SHOP !! Update: June 25, 2007 New Avionics Shop Well great things continue to happen at Mansfield Landing. Dave Fethertston has left the company he started (Altair Avionics) back in 1993 to start a new Avionics company here at Mansfield. The company "NexAir Avionics" will be a certified FAA Repair Station and will have distributorships for all the major avionics companies. Just come by and take a look at the "better than new" Cessna 172 that Dave did if you want an example of the work he can do. Best of Luck Dave! Pilot Lounge We are continuing to improve on the great pilot lounge.It is stocked with supplies for your flying needs and even has free bottled water courtesy of NexAir Avionics. Grab a bottle the next time you go out and fly. Spill Kit and Fire Extinguisher There is an environmental spill kit and fire extinguisher inside the pilot lounge to the left. Please notify us if you have a spill and need to use the kit. Hangar Sales All the hangars are sold. You can contact Dave Fetherston. if you want to be put on the waiting list for hangars. Tie-Downs The cost will be $70/month without electric and $75/month with electric. Please spread the word and have anybody interested contact Dave Fetherston. Tiedown residents have full access to the pilot lounge. Mansfield Landing will supply the rope but it is the pilot's responsibility to make sure the rope is properly used and their airplane is secure. Any unoccupied space will be available to the residents of Mansfield Landing Condo Association for transient airplane parking. Website The website has been operational for some time. There is an area for forum discussions, pictures and even a weblog. You are welcome to sign up and share your interests with others. Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Another Website Check out this great website that was put together by Joe Savalonis and his wife Sherry. Joe visits the airport almost every weekend and takes lots of pictures. Security Gate "D" Access Mansfield Airport takes security very serious and we at Mansfield Landing will do our best to help enforce the airport security policy. Please make sure when coming through the gate (coming or going) you stop and wait for the gate to close before heading off. Also please remember that you security badge must be worn at all times - Thank you. If you have purchased a hangar and currently have a Mansfield badge, it should work gate "D". If your badge does not work you can stop in and ask Dave or Kelley to activate it for Gate "D". If you do not have a Mansfield badge you can stop as well to have your picture taken and a badge issued. Before you go for your badge please follow the Mass Aeronautics link on this site and select "Apply for a badge" on the bottom left. Please complete this on-line application and then go see Dave or Kelley for your picture. They will then complete the process and let you know when they have your badge. Please do not forget to bring a check for $45 made out to the "Town of Mansfield". Please
